Brenda was born in East Liverpool, Ohio and was raised on the 3,100 acre Firestone Farms (great uncle Harvey Firestone was the inventor of the Firestone Tires). At the age of 13, she and her family left the farm life for a laid back island life on Guam. She attended public schools and graduated from the University of Guam. She joined the teaching profession and has been teaching for 23 years. She has taught all areas of Special Education including the severely and profoundly disabled, the educable mentally disabled, the Resource Room in the Elementary setting, CRT (Consultant Resource Teacher), 4th grade, LOTE (Language other than English) and the Gifted Program.
